Production Supervisor

Essential Job Functions
  • Directly supervise all production processes and assigned production team
  • Ensure that all products – yogurt, milk, butter, ice cream, etc. – are prepared and packaged daily within established standards and that the quality of the product meets or exceeds standards
  • Ensure all products are tested, verified, and code dates are accurate before packaged
  • Monitor production and dayside pasteurization testings, rotations, and efficiencies
  • Ensure the minimization of product loss
  • Effectively, consistently, and professionally communicate continuing events to peer supervisors and all team members and/or following shift team
  • Ensure that pertinent data reporting is completed a timely manner, as required or requested
  • Monitor rest and meal/lunch period compliance
  • Acts as reliever for regular functions of all lines and in the event of short staffing
Training and Development/Safety
  • Oversees training and development of production team members, new production temp or direct hires, and pasteurizers, guiding them with a positive disposition and personal high quality work ethic
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safety rules, and any/all established processes , whether established by their manager, by the company or by law as well as assist with the communication, training, and enforcement of these
  • Lead by example – Consistently work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, and communicated security requirements, so as to help foster a companywide culture of safety
  • Must have good communication with all team members, guiding them with a positive disposition and high quality work ethic
  • Responsible for performance management and biannual employee performance evaluation process for all members of production team
  • Works with management and P & C team to help identify staffing and training needs
  • Ensure work is produced in the most sustainable manner and assist in the communication of companywide sustainability goals to all team members
  • Participate in staff meetings including but not limited to pay day huddles, safety meetings, and customer service meetings.
  • Safely operate forklifts and electric and manual pallet jacks
  • Maintain excellent attendance
  • Other duties as requested

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or some college certifications, preferred
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish, required
  • Previous production experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Must possess an aptitude for smart technology, particularly iPhone/iPad, as well as willingness to expand technical knowledge in these areas
  • Must have a proficient computer and inventory ERP (Navision) program understanding
  • Milk Pasteurizer license is required for this position; must be attained within 90 days from start date
  • Must be flexible to work OT and different shifts when required and to work weekends, as business needs arise

  • Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 90 decibels
  • Ability to lift, hold and/or carry up to 55 pounds of product, unassisted
  • Frequent work on a computer and looking at the computer screen for extended periods
