(“SFC,” “we,” or “us”) is committed to preserving the privacy of those who visit our websites, social media platforms owned and controlled by us, and any content, functionality, or services offered through us, including our website located at strausfamilycreamery.com (collectively, the “Site”). This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes the types of personal information (referred to in some laws as “personal data”) and other information we collect from and about you during your visit to the Site and how we use, share, and secure the information collected.   • Inferences Drawn from Personal Information to Create a Profile About a Consumer reflecting the consumer’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes
  • Sensitive Personal Information, such as a social security number, driver’s license number, state ID card, or passport number; financial account information; racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or union membership; biometric information; personal health information; and information concerning a consumer’s sex life or sexual orientation. We only collect this type of information if you voluntarily provide it when interacting with us.

You are responsible for ensuring that any information you provide is accurate so we can communicate with you, perform services for you, or process your requests relating to information collected from or about you.

Some examples of how we collect the foregoing information include:

We may collect certain information automatically when you interact with the Site. For example:

  • Usage Data: When you use the Site, we and our service providers may track usage data and information about all visitors to the Site.

PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN

The Site may use social media plug-ins to enable you to easily share information with others. When you visit the Site, the operator of the social plug-in can place a cookie on your computer or other electronic device that enables that operator to recognize individuals who have previously visited our Site. If you are logged into the social media website (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) while browsing on our Site, the social media plug-in allows that social media website to receive information that you have visited our Site. Rights of California Residents

Right to Know:  If you are a California resident, you may submit, free of charge, but no more than twice in a 12-month period, a verifiable request for the following information:

Right to Delete:  If you are a California resident, you may submit a verifiable request for us to delete any personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain limitations.

If we need additional information to verify your identity, we will contact you to request that information.  If we are not able to verify your identity, we will deny your request.

If you would like to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must (i) provide the agent signed permission to do so, (ii) provide proof of your identity, and (iii) directly confirm you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request.  If we do not receive the above, we will deny the request.

Right to Opt-Out:  At any time, you may tell us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, which includes sharing your information with a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising. Right to be Free from Discrimination:  We will not discriminate against you because you have chosen to exercise your rights, including, for example, by denying you access to our online services .

Shine the Light Law: California law allows California residents to ask companies with whom they have an established business relationship to provide certain information about the companies’ sharing of personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes.  We do not share any California consumer personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes without consent.

Texas Residents

If you are a resident of Texas, you have the following rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act:

We will respond to your request within 45 days. We may require specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and process your request.  

If we refuse to take action on a request, you may appeal our decision within a reasonable period time by contacting us at the address provided herein and specifying you wish to appeal. Within 60 days of our receipt of your appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions.
