May 14, 2026; Petaluma, CA; — Straus Family Creamery is voluntarily recalling a small number of production runs of select flavors and sizes of its Organic Ice Cream due to the potential presence of metal foreign material. Only the production runs (noted by the “best by” date on package) specified later in this release are impacted. These lots were distributed to retailers in seventeen states (AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, NJ, OR, PA, SC, TX, WA, WI) and on shelves beginning May 4.
The FDA has been informed of this voluntary recall, and Straus Family Creamery is working with retailers to remove the potentially affected products from shelves.
No injuries have been reported.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should fill in the form below to request a voucher to redeem for a replacement product at their local retailer. After completing the form, Consumers should discard the product. Consumers should not eat the recalled product, nor should they return it to the store.

We initiated our voluntary recall after finding a damaged piece of equipment that had the potential to result in a metal fragment or fragments in the specific flavors and best by dates of our recall.
Straus ice cream production has paused due to a complete overhaul of the production line to repair the equipment and resolve the source of the potential contamination. Production will only resume after we thoroughly review the work performed and are satisfied with the corrections.
