Why glass bottles? To save our planet! We reuse the glass bottles an average of 8 times. That's even better then recycling! A significant number of plastic milk containers go into California landfills. Those of you that are drinking our milk in glass are preventing waste from going into the dumps! We installed a methane digester about 5 years ago to turn our cows' manure into electricity. Instead of adding harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, Straus is eliminating them! About 95% of the dairy's electricity needs are met by the digester; it even powers our electric car every night! Read more...
