Straus Family Creamery Launches Two New Organic Ice Cream Flavors: Lemon Gingersnap and Strawberry
A delicious treat made with wholesome milk and cream from organic local family farms
Petaluma, Calif., March 2, 2016 – Straus Family Creamery, the first 100% certified organic creamery in the U.S., is expanding its line of premium organic ice creams with two new, refreshingly simple ice cream flavors: Lemon Gingersnap and Strawberry. Both flavors are made from organic milk and cream supplied by local family farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties.
A new classic, Lemon Gingersnap features smooth, creamy organic lemon ice cream, blended with gluten-free cookies made in Ukiah, California by Pamela’s Products. The original flavor combination of citrus, cream, and a hint of ginger spice will delight ice cream lovers who follow gluten-free and non-gluten-free diets alike.
Bursting with the taste of ripe, fresh berries, Straus Family Creamery’s Strawberry ice cream combines organic strawberries with a sweet cream base made from only a few simple, organic ingredients: cream, milk, sugar, and egg yolks.
These new additions round out Straus Family Creamery’s beloved line of premium organic ice creams. Both new flavors are minimally processed and made without fillers, stabilizers, or artificial colorings, so the pure flavor of Straus Family Creamery milk shines through. Like other Straus Family Creamery organic products, the new ice creams are Non-GMO Project Verified, certified kosher, and gluten free.
“We are excited to introduce new ice creams made with milk from local family farms,” said Albert Straus, Founder and CEO of Straus Family Creamery. “When consumers enjoy our ice creams, they are also helping to sustain family farming, revitalize rural communities, and support a thriving regional food system.”
Both flavors are available in pint-sized containers at a suggested retail price of $5.29 and join the other classic organic Straus Family Creamery flavors, such as Vanilla Bean, Dutch Chocolate, and Coffee in grocery freezer sections throughout the Western United States. Straus Family Creamery has also made two of its best-selling flavors, Cookies & Cream, and Vanilla Chocolate Chip, available in quart size.
Straus Family Creamery has a longstanding commitment to sustaining family farming. When Albert Straus converted his family’s dairy to organic production in 1994, becoming the first certified organic dairy west of the Mississippi, he spearheaded a model that reflects the true costs of milk production and promotes sustainable land stewardship. Founding the Creamery the same year, Straus sought to create a market for local, organic milk, and develop a community of organic dairy farmers in the region. Today, nearly 80% of the dairy farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties are certified organic. Straus Family Creamery continues to make business decisions based on its mission to help sustain family farms and revitalize rural communities.
